The Prehistoric Era
The origins of arts – paleo-art brings the audience a closer look at our ancestors way of life right from the beginning of the creation of man to the early civilizations. The Age of Enlightenment
The subject of art and most other aspects of life during Age of Enlightenment was based on reason, culture and science. It witnessed the beginning of the neoclassicism, with the return to the use of classical motifs. Some of the renowned painters that embraced neoclassical works include Jacques-Louis David who painted with view to portraying enlightenment achievements.
The Romantic Era
Romantic period is best characterized by the inclusion of emotion, individualism, nature and the sublime into art. It was an ideal time for artist like Caspar David Friedrich and Eugène Delacroix to work as the paintings portrayed this period so well in terms of passion, sensitivity, and themes.

The Realism Movement
Realism began in the middle of the 19th century, and the intent of many artists was to establish the truth in usage. There are such masters of the genre like Gustave Courbet, Honoré Daumier whose works do not contain complex symbolism and criticisms of the society of the period.
The Impressionist Period
