Glastonbury Festival 2025

Typically held in the last week of June, the Glastonbury Festival 2025 took place on Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset, from June 25 to 29, and is expected to draw a crowd of about 210,000 people onto its sprawling 1,000-acre site. The festival will take a “fallow year” in 2026 so that the land may regenerate. In November 2024, tickets went on sale for about Ā£373.50 for the entire weekend.

Culture, Activism & Sustainability

Glastonbury is more than just music; it is a cultural festival that also promotes a charity and environmental ethos. Established in 1970 by Michael Eavis, who was inspired by the hippie and anti-war movement, Glastonbury continues to have affiliations with WaterAid, Oxfam, and Greenpeace, and has historically been involved with anti-nuclear proliferation efforts. This year’s programming featured vibrant debate stages where prominent voices like Zarah Sultana, Gary Lineker, and Caroline Lucas spoke on the biggest issues facing our world including climate change, gender justice, and international conflict. Even while festival-goers revel, the security is high but light. Click here for the source
