Over 100 Flights Cancelled Due To Heavy Snowfall In Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, Jan 5: Continued snow buildup has shut down airports in Srinagar as no flight has been able to land or take off in the Kashmir Valley today.

Because of continued snow and the possibility of more news on the way, the Srinagar Airport authorities it has decided not to allow any flights to land in the airport fearing for the lives of passengers and the airport employees The forum has got its name from the same airport where the authorities due to heavy and continued snow and bad visibility have decided to cancel all the flight operations in order to save the lives of the passengers and airport employees.

The airport which has been experiencing many havoc this winter season has been unable to yield normal operations due to frozen precipitations in form of snow and extremely low temperatures.

As more snow builds up at the airport the authorities have urged the public to contact individual airlines for any changes in flight timings.

The intensity of snow has not only caused closure of the Srinagar Airport but also impacted the normal living in the town. People have been struggling in their daily activities, snow removal operations are still in progress.
