The vice president will use the 90-minute debate to elaborate on some of her campaign pledges and distinguish herself from Joe Biden. The president will bring the “happy” ex-US president to the debate.
Either of the candidates finds close contests with tiny decimal differences in the nation’s electorates useful for their campaign. The debate takes place approximately 55 days before the election on November 5th.

When is the Harris-Trump debate?
The February Trump-Harris debate will start at 9 pm ET on Tuesday, September 10, and last up to 90 minutes. It will be held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, which is dedicated to the study of the Constitution of the United States.
How to follow the Harris-Trump presidential debate in the US
ABC channels will broadcast the debate from 9 p.m. The debate will also be live-streamed on the website, app, Hulu, and Disney+ for free. Major networks will air the debate during prime time. PBS coverage of the debate starts at 9 p.m. ET.

The Harris team and Trump team had differing opinions on the debate rules regarding the use of microphones. The Harris team requested “hot” mics to enhance opportunities for exchanges. In contrast, Trump’s team advocated for the mics to be turned off. During the first debate between Biden and Trump, the mics were in fact turned off.

The two contenders for vice president JD Vance and Tim Walz are expected to participate in the debate scheduled for October 1. The vice-presidential debate will be conducted by CBS News in New York City.
