Volkswagen has now shown design sketches of the future ID Every1 Concept, which is the first real glimpse into its design. The all-electric hatchback will be showcased on March 5, 2025, as a precursor to Volkswagen’s entry-level electric vehicle. Its production version, which will presumably be called ID.1, will arrive in 2027.
Design Sketches Provide Better Clarity
Volkswagen had earlier previewed the ID Every1 Concept with a mysterious image. Nevertheless, the newest design sketches give a clearer image of the front and rear appearance. However the concept boasts a closed-off grille, a signature characteristic of electric vehicles, and half-circle LED daytime running lights. Vertical LED strips on the bumpers also provide an extra layer of futuristic sophistication.
The renderings also indicate a sculpted front bumper with a big middle air intake. The wheel arches look more aggressive, lending a sporty feel to the overall design. These features suggest a bold and contemporary look for the new small EV.
Side and Rear Styling Details
Additionally ID Every1 Concept has a four-door layout with a flat roofline to be pragmatic for city use. The side profile of the car has a noticeable rear haunch, providing an element of dynamism.

At the back, Volkswagen has adopted design elements from the Up hatchback, such as an all-glass rear hatch. The tail lights mirror the headlamp design, with identical internals. The lit Volkswagen logo also gives it a contemporary and premium feel. The large rear bumper provides the hatchback with a solid stance, which is in keeping with Volkswagen’s changing design language.
Built on Volkswagen’s Scalable Systems Platform
The ID Every1 Concept would be the initial Volkswagen EV produced on the new Scalable Systems Platform (SSP). It would replace Volkswagen’s current MEB and PPE platforms with increased scalability and flexibility. With the SSP platform, Volkswagen can consolidate its next-generation EV model range, resulting in cost-saving production and more efficiency.

A Step Towards Affordable EVs
Volkswagen intends to democratize electric mobility with the ID Every1 Concept. Being an entry-level vehicle, the production variant (ID.1) will be positioned to attract price-sensitive buyers who desire a functional yet fashionable EV. Through the fusion of functionality and contemporary design, Volkswagen is intent on establishing its brand in the expanding small EV segment.
The ID Every1 Concept will be publicly unveiled in March 2025, providing enthusiasts with a better understanding of what to anticipate for the production variant. With the ID.1 set to enter production in 2027, Volkswagen is persisting in its drive toward electrification.
