TVS Motor Company has launched the iQube ST electric scooter in the Indian market. The iQube, TVS’s first electric scooter, debuted in January 2020 and has since sold over 2 lakh units by October 2023. With the introduction of the ST variant, the iQube range now includes three trim levels and five variants.
1. Design and Variants
The iQube ST maintains the same design as other variants, with the only difference being the ST stickering on the front fender and body. The ST variant comes in two versions, differentiated by their battery packs: 3.4 kWh and 5.1 kWh. Color options for the iQube ST include Copper Bronze Matte, Coral Sand Satin, Titanium Grey Matte, and Starlight Blue.
2. Advanced Features
The iQube ST boasts a 7.0-inch touchscreen display on the dashboard, which offers Bluetooth connectivity via an app. This feature enhances connectivity and provides navigation, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), and four color themes. Additionally, the ST variant includes an HMI joystick, enabling manual control of the display.
3. Battery Pack Options
The iQube ST offers two battery pack options. The more affordable version features a 3.4 kWh battery pack, similar to the iQube S. While the pricier version includes a 5.1 kWh battery pack. The 3.4 kWh battery provides a claimed range of 100 km on a single charge, whereas the 5.1 kWh battery extends the range by an additional 50 km. TVS claims the 5.1 kWh version will take four hours and 18 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent, with a full charge taking close to six hours.
4. Performance
The iQube ST slightly enhances performance compared to other variants. The larger battery pack version claims a top speed of 82 kmph and accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 4.5 seconds. A 4.4 kW BLDC hub motor powers the iQube ST, producing 6 bhp and 33 Nm of torque, matching other models in the lineup.
5. Pricing
The prices for the iQube ST variants start at Rs 1.55 lakh for the 3.4 kWh version, while the 5.1 kWh variant is priced at Rs 1.85 lakh. TVS offers a loyalty bonus of Rs 10,000 to customers who pre-booked the iQube ST before July 15, 2022, bringing the price of the top-spec model down to Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
Conclusion
The launch of the TVS iQube ST electric scooter marks a significant addition to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. With its advanced features, multiple battery options, and improved performance, the iQube ST stands out as a compelling choice for consumers seeking a premium electric scooter experience. The competitive pricing further enhances its appeal, making it a strong contender in the burgeoning electric two-wheeler market. Read more Anticipating the Next Innings: Virat Kohli’s Retirement Hint
