Maruti Suzuki has introduced the new Swift S-CNG, expanding its CNG portfolio. The prices for this start at Rs 8.20 lakh for the base VXI variant and go up to Rs 9.20 lakh for the fully-loaded ZXI variant (ex-showroom). This marks a premium of Rs 90,000 over the corresponding petrol-only versions of the Swift.

Expanded Trim Options
Unlike the previous-generation Swift CNG, which was only available in two trims, the new one adds a third option, the ZXI grade. This variant brings additional features, making it more appealing to buyers seeking extra equipment.
Performance and Fuel Efficiency
The Swift S-CNG runs on a 1.2-litre Z-series engine. While delivering 69 bhp and 102 Nm of torque while running on CNG. Though the power output is lower than the petrol-only version (which produces 80.4 bhp and 112 Nm), the S-CNG variant offers impressive fuel efficiency. The Swift S-CNG is certified to provide 32.85 km per kg of CNG, making it a cost-effective option for those who prioritize fuel savings.
Features in the ZXI Variant
The top-spec ZXI variant of the Swift S-CNG offers a host of additional features over the VXI (O) variant, including:

- Automatic climate control

- 60:40 split rear seat
- Rear USB ports

Maruti Suzuki’s CNG Growth
Since the new Swift’s launch in May 2024, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 67,000 units. The company also sold 4.77 lakh CNG cars last year and is aiming for 6 lakh CNG vehicle sales this year. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, confirmed that the Swift S-CNG will first be available in Gujarat before expanding to other markets.
