The first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 recapture the show’s signature elements – nostalgic 1980s culture, otherworldly horror, and close friendship – along with a new layer of emotional depth that gives audiences a sense of closure and resolution, while also feeling exciting and satisfying. Critics have offered a widely-agreed assessment of the return of Stranger Things from its three-year break; one critic has said it “hasn’t lost any of its vibrant personality and PG-13 horror style. The integration between Season 5 and the previous seasons of the series has made it very clear how much the writers have matured as storytellers. The level of horror, action, and visual design is greatly increased – it’s darker, larger, and bolder than before – but the core of Stranger Things has remained the same. The emotionally-charged dialogues between characters, such as in the case of a conversation between two long-time friends, illustrate the way that audiences originally connected to this show, and the importance of those connections to them.
Strongest Moments: Characters, Action & Visuals

The camaraderie between old friends combined with the mentorship seen from older characters toward their younger counterparts and the opportunity to revisit previously established mysteries is what gives Season 5 its emotional depth, according to many critics. In addition to the overwhelming amount of character focus, Season 5 also includes some of the most impressive production design, effects, and intense horror set pieces in the series. From heavy gunfire and an abundance of demonic activity to visual depictions of grotesque injuries, the level of visual intensity is claimed by many critics to be on par with that seen in full-length movies. It seems that this is meant to point to a return to the high-quality art style previously displayed in earlier seasons.

But It’s Not Perfect — Plot Bloat & Mythology Overload
While many reviewers have praised the show, not all of them agree on the merits of the new season. There are concerns that the heavy legacy of the show (lots of complicated mythology, many subplots, etc.) has weighed down this new season. Many critics point out that audiences may find it difficult to maintain attention if every character gets a “moment” and that the show at times loses focus on the primary narrative or has subplots that seem uninteresting or unrelated to the main story arc. However, there is still an overall sense of optimism from even these critical reviews because it appears there are still episodes left in the season that will wrap up everything in a satisfying manner. As many of the reviews point out, if the season has been this good so far, then we are about to see an amazing conclusion: “One wild, chilling, thrilling and heartbreaking finish.” click here for the sourcce
Will’s Powers
The character Will Byers, who appears in the Netflix television series Stranger Things, displays various psychic abilities that provide him with an ongoing connection to the Upside Down since he was taken in Season 1. Unlike Eleven’s telekinesis, Will’s psychic abilities have a more supernatural feel, as they are rooted in empathy rather than thought. Due to the fact that the Mind Flayer possessed Will in Season 2, traces of the Mind Flayer’s consciousness remained with Will long after being exorcised. This means that Will has the ability to “sense” creatures coming from the Upside Down before they arrive. This information is communicated through chills down Will’s spine, sudden visions or flashes, and an overpowering emotional reaction to a creature from the Upside Down entering Hawkins. In addition to sensing creatures from the Upside Down, Will can also sense the presence of the Mind Flayer because of the ongoing connection between them through the psychic tether that was formed during the Mind Flayer’s possession of Will. As the Mind Flayer grows in strength, Will experiences physical pain, visual flashes of the alternate reality, and involuntary movements of his body due to the increased connection the Mind Flayer has with Will. The connection between Will and the Mind Flayer acts as a sort of living compass for Will; he can use his ability to guide others to the danger of the Mind Flayer or identify when the Mind Flayer is about to open a gate to Hawkins. The main function of Will’s psychic connection to the Mind Flayer is passive — it does not actively assist Will — however, Will’s connection to the Mind Flayer is critical for providing the rest of the group with warning about the impending danger in Hawkins.
