Skoda is entering the subcompact SUV segment with the Kylaq, a model crafted to deliver versatility at competitive price points. Scheduled for a full release on November 6, the Kylaq will offer four trims to meet various customer needs: Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige. Each variant is equipped with a unique set of features and tech to appeal to a broad range of drivers, aiming to set a new standard in the sub-4m SUV category. From Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), an official cut for 2 December. In terms of the target competition, Skoda would encounter Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Hyundai Venue among others.

Underpinnings
The Kylaq shares its MQB A0 IN architecture with Skoda’s Kushaq and Slavia models and sources its power from the well-known 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which offers 114 bhp along with 178 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission will also be in the cards, which should give buyers flexibility to choose according to their taste for driving style.
