And that’s it, folks. To wrap the galaxy lineup of S25, here is the first glance at the Galaxy S25 Plus for you!
Contrary to all the earlier reports, the Galaxy S25 Plus is reportedly announced along with the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Based on the Onleaks renders, which are CAD- based, the Galaxy S25 Plus will follow the design line of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. That means it has flat sides and the camera rings, which is pretty polarizing by Samsung.
Because these are based off CADs, you’ll notice a couple of things missing, such as a SIM card slot. That doesn’t 100% confirm Samsung is getting rid of it; that’s just not typically shown in a CAD.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus will be thinner, same size battery
And it was only this morning that it was reported that the Galaxy S25 Plus would come with a 4,900mAh capacity battery.
This means that the battery life is going to be just as good, more or less, in terms of battery life, as the Galaxy S24 Plus unless the processor and the display are significantly more efficient.
Galaxy S25 Plus likely to have Snapdragon 8 Gen 4; Exynos 2500 possible in certain markets but not the US. This may pair with 12GB of RAM and potentially 256GB of base storage this year.
The Galaxy S25 Plus will have a 6.7-inch LTPO display with adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. Its dimensions are roughly 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.3mm, slightly smaller and thinner than the S24 Plus.
As for when the Galaxy S25 Plus and the rest of the Galaxy S25 family is releasing, we are expecting them to come out around mid-January. We don’t think that it’ll arrive before January 10, the end of CES. Samsung will want to hold its own event outside of CES, get as much attention as possible. So we might see it taking place in the last week of January which would be much like last year’s announcement date of the Galaxy S24 series-January 17, 2024. They’ll come out about a week or two later.
Samsung is not typically a company to make a big noise over its Android upgrade policy, but again seems to be in the same mold when it comes to the Galaxy S25 series. Now, a reliable source came out to share information about the battery capacity of the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Galaxy Club reported that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus will have a battery similar to the Galaxy S24+, with a capacity of 4,900mAh.
It is also believed that the new Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra will also retain their predecessors’ battery capacities: 4,000mAh and 5,000mAh respectively.
That same capacity isn’t necessarily going to mean the same battery life; chipset and screen can also majorly impact endurance, so we hope that phones do still offer improved battery life via more efficient components.
However, there seems to be little chance that the Galaxy S25 series might be late to the game as far as battery capacity is concerned. Most of its strong competitors like OnePlus 12, vivo X100 Pro, ASUS ROG Phone 8, and HONOR Magic 6 Pro all use a battery with a capacity of 5,400mAh or larger, but some reports indicate Android OEMs will step up things with their flagship devices for the next generation, where one leak shows that OnePlus’s next device, the OnePlus 13 may feature a 6,000mAh battery.
