Former President Barack Obama was safely evacuated after reports of an armed man hiding near Trump at a Florida golf course.

Secret Service agents went to him. According to reports, agents fired when they caught sight of the gunman and fired four to five rounds of ammunition. Sheriff Bradshaw reported the suspect left knapsacks, a weapon scope, and a GoPro camera, fleeing in a vehicle and abandoning the rifle. Currently, the FBI has taken over the investigation.

AP identified the man as Ryan Wesley Routh. To date, the FBI has not commented on the issue.

Ryan Wesley Routh is 58 years old. He comes from North Carolina but later lived in Hawaii. Routh ran a business that built sheds with his son and was often taking to social media to comment on US politics and international affairs.

AP explains that voting records of Routh are unaffiliated voters in North Carolina but voted most recently on the date of the state’s Democratic Party primary, March 2024. He also donated to the political action committee ActBlue, which favours Democratic candidates.

Routh endorses ex-Democratic presidential contender Tulsi Gabbard, who has since become a member of the Republican party. He has also supported President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris during his recent past period.

AP news agency reported that in the wake of the first attempt of assassination against the incumbent president of the US, Trump, Routh has asked Biden and Harris to visit wounded victims in the shooting at the hospital and attend the funeral for a former fire chief killed at the rally.

He has also supported the war that is going on against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He often commented on the war through his social media and had a site where he raised money and recruited volunteers to go to Kyiv.

In 2002, Routh was convicted of possessing a weapon of mass destruction. This was due to a standoff that Routh held with the police in North Carolina.

Days after the incident, Trump confirmed being right via email, thanking his security team for prompt response. Evacuated quickly from golf course 5th hole, safe but joking about missing his round. Hannity stated Trump was in good spirits.

This is the second attempt at Trump’s life within the past month. On June 18, while attending a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was shot at, and a bullet grazed his right ear. The Secret Service reported this afternoon that one of the victims died from a shooting that left one attendee of the rally dead and two others injured. Police have identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Reports from security officials to CBS News claim that the suspect fired shots from 200 to 300 feet from a shed on an elevation with an AR-style rifle.

Vice President Kamala Harris reacted by saying she was pleased that no harm came to Donald Trump over the incident while ranting against the violence.
