The attack occurred in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv when a Russian-guided bomb hit a multi-storey residential building. Ihor Terekhov, the city mayor, reported on Monday that at least 41 people were injured and one person died when a bomb hit the 10th floor of a building. The fire spread to four storeys because the three floors above the impact site had a non-fire-resistant coating. Prosecutors in Kharkiv found the body of a 94-year-old woman on the ninth floor of the building. Terekhov said twelve other buildings suffered damage, apart from this building.

Zelenskiy said on Sunday for the fifth day running that the west needed to change its policy regarding the employment of weapons with a long range, as Russia had launched at least 100 attacks similar to the one targeting Kharkiv every day. “The only instrument to counter this terror is a systemic one – long-range capabilities to destroy Russian military aviation at its bases. It also reported another Ukrainian drone was shot down on Sunday morning over the western Ryazan region.
