Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year old woman and the mother of Savannah Guthrie from NBC’s ‘Today Show’, is missing. Her story has become a headline story across the country thanks to investigators in the Tucson, Arizona area continuing to search for her after evidence of an abduction was uncovered during their investigation. The last time Nancy was positively identified was at her home in Catalina Foothills on January 31, 2026; she was officially reported as being missing by her family on Sunday afternoon of February 2, 2026.
Authorities have determined that Nancy was most likely taken from her own home against her own will and that her home is being treated as a crime scene by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI. Investigators found blood at Nancy’s home that has since been confirmed to be Nancy’s DNA through a forensic blood analysis (which has increased suspicion about foul play), and they discovered Nancy’s cell phone, Apple Watch, wallet, and keys still in her home, increasing suspicion about whether she left on her own.

The investigation into this incident has continued at the home of Nancy Guthrie; Friday night, evidence was gathered from her property by law enforcement agents who removed her SUV from it – a method to gather additional clues as to what happened at that site, as well as identifying potential locations for additional searches.
