Kia has released the all-electric EV4 in production format, representing yet another step for the brand’s electric vehicle portfolio. Derived from the EV4 concept unveiled last October 2023, the production EV4 maintains much of the original look. Unlike the concept version, which Kia unveiled only as a sedan, the production-version EV4 will also feature a hatchback body shape. Kia will launch the EV4 globally on February 27, 2025, and reveal its full specifications and interior features.
A Daring Design Drawn from ‘Opposites United’
Kia has styled the EV4 with its ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, reconciling sharp future-oriented design with smooth aerodynamic features. The front has vertically aligned LED headlamps flanked by thin day-time running lights (DRLs) stretching towards the edges of the fascia. A broad rectangular air dam adds to the aggressive nature of the car, and a black design feature disconnects the hood from the front bumper.
At the side, the EV4 sedan features smoothened body lines, a sharp shoulder line, and chunky wheel arch cladding.

The sloping roofline with a fastback design flows into the boot lid effortlessly, bestowing the sedan with a sporty and aerodynamic posture. The hatchback version, on the other hand, adopts a more traditional profile with a reduced rear overhang. A roof spoiler adds to its sporty looks, making it stand out from the sedan. Both of these body styles feature the same taillight design at the very ends of the rear area.
Powertrain and Performance
Kia has not officially announced the EV4’s powertrain details. Nevertheless, with Kia’s current electric vehicle line, the EV4 will possibly have several battery and motor variants. The EV4 will presumably be built around Hyundai-Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which currently underpins cars such as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. This platform accommodates single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, promising a range exceeding 500 km on a full charge.
Interior and Technology: What to Expect
But it should have a tech-laden interior with a digital instrument cluster, big touchscreen infotainment screen, and connected car capabilities. Kia may also give the EV4 a sophisticated driver assistance system (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. Also included in the package might be premium comfort items like ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.

Global Market Positioning and Expected Competition The EV4 will compete in the expanding mid-size electric vehicle market, pitting itself against vehicles such as the Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq 6, and Volkswagen ID.7. By being offered in both sedan and hatchback versions, Kia will be able to appeal to a wider segment, addressing buyers that seek either practicality or sporty looks.
Conclusion
With the EV4, Kia is again innovating the electric mobility space. Its flashy design, anticipated high-performance levels, and advanced technology position it as a prime player in the competitive EV market. Ahead of the impending global premiere, the world waits with bated breath for more information on the EV4’s specs, pricing, and release schedule.
