 
The professional wrestling community has lost one of its most recognizable faces as Hulk Hogan, a likely WWE Hall of Famer has passed away at age 71 from suspected cardiac arrest. Hogan had an enormous presence, and charisma like no other, combined with a limitless “Hulkamania” like energy, once the world’s biggest most popular wrestlers. He was more than a wrestler, he was a cultural icon. He will always be remembered in WWE/WCW’s golden ages in the United States, when Hulk Hogan’s name was widely known in millions of homes through his unforgettable one-liners and television appearances constant TV appearances. Hogan had a remarkable life span of being able to raise WWE (which was called WWF at the time) to international prominence.

Hulk Hogan, whose given name is Terry Eugene Bollea, began wrestling in the late 1970s; he became a sensation during the wrestling boom of the 1980s, reaching fame due in part to his appearances in main event matches across numerous WrestleMania events. His battles with legends like AndrĂ© the Giant, The Ultimate Warrior, and Randy Savage remain important parts in the annals of wrestling history. Hogan’s strength was not limited to wrestling, as he transitioned into film and television (as well as some forays into music) to show he was just as entertaining (if not more so) than those who only considered him entertaining for wrestling. Recognizing Hogan’s contributions to sports entertainment, the WWE inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2005.

When the news of his death began circulating, tributes came in from far and wide. Fellow wrestlers like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ric Flair and John Cena mourned Hogan’s death and called him a pioneer and the man who changed it all. Fans shared memories and emotional messages on social media along with various classic clips so they could relive, at least down memory lane, a very important part of their childhood.
