The Special Cell of the Delhi Police, has arrested 3 suspects linked to a Pakistan-backed criminal-terrorist operation under the direction of international handler Shahzad Bhatti. In addition, weapons, grenades and reconnaissance images were also seized during this operation which represents a significant decrease to cross-border terrorism operations. Police seized the following items during their raid: (i) One (1) semi-automatic handgun, (ii) Ten (10) live cartridges, (iii) Mobile phones containing incriminating conversations, and (iv) Recon/video evidence as well as digital media that established direct ties between these suspects and the foreign handler. The Modus Operandi: Cross-Border Direction, Local Recruitment in Delhi

Delhi Police exposed Pakistan-Backed Terror-Gangster Module — Three 3 Arrested in Major Crackdown

The inquiry determined that Bhatti effectively controlled a terror/gang interface while in foreign regions and, with the aid of social networks and encrypted chat applications, coordinated attacks and logistical support. Reportedly, three of the arrested operatives were recruited online, and assigned specific roles — conducting reconnaissance on potential targets, sourcing arms necessary to carry out attacks, and executing acts of terror against individuals/groups. The primary concern with this case is the manner in which foreign-supported handlers are preying on domestic shortcomings — engaging young people from various states and promising them quick cash for their assistance, thereby indoctrinating them into committing acts of terrorist violence.

What Lies Ahead: Investigation Deepens, Threats Contained — For Now

Police have announced that they anticipate more arrests to be made soon, as their investigation continues into this crime and they have already identified other people who were involved in planning and carrying out the criminal activity. They believe that the internet communications and information that have been collected by investigators may reveal a larger plan to attack additional people and/or institutions. The police further emphasise the need for continued vigilance through intelligence sharing between states and law enforcement agencies to combat terroristic operations that take place across international borders, which frequently are disguised as local crime rings. click here for the source
