Shogun won 14 awards, setting a record at the Creative Art Emmy Awards, while The Bear won seven, with Jamie Lee Curtis taking Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

During the Creative Arts Emmys, presenters at LA’s Peacock Theater highlighted Shogun. It may break the record of thirteen awards set by John Adams in 2008 during the main ceremony on September 15.
On Sunday night, it won 14 out of 16 possible trophies, missing only two, including awards for costumes, make-up, editing, stunts, and cinematography, as well as guest actor by Néstor Carbonell.
He thanked the crew when he accepted this and then marveled at how so many of them were in the audience. “You are all here! You are all nominated!” Carbonell said. “I love that it’s a team sport.”

When asked about earning an EGOT with a Grammy and a Tony, she had no chance at all. “Not only can I not sing,” she said, “but also I have never acted before.”
At Sunday night’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Shogun set the record for winning more Emmys 2024 than any other single season of a TV show with 14 while The Bear garnered seven awards including Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Jamie Lee Curtis.
For example, on the second night of the two-night Creative Arts Emmys 2024 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles where they handed out awards that don’t quite make it to the main Primetime Emmys ceremony but all you could hear Presenters were saying was Shogun. Even before it got to its September 15th main ceremony which is still ahead of it and can still add another five episodes, this show had already broken a record by winning 13 as compared to previous limited series John Adams (2008).
The FX show about power games in medieval Japan won almost all 16 possible prizes last Sunday night, including best costumes, makeup parlour, film editing studio, and trick stage performance service, and photographs—not to mention some guest star like Nestor Carbonell.

Carbonell thanked everyone and pointedly observed how many crew members were in attendance. “You are all here! All nominated!,” Carbonell exclaimed. “I love this team sport thing”.
Curtis became emotional on stage after winning her first Emmy, 18 months after her first Oscar win for Everything Everywhere All at Once. She said later in the greenroom, “Luckiest girl in the world.”, she said they were backstage. “I never thought I’d get to do work on this level of depth and complexity and intelligence.. These past two years have been incredible.”

When asked whether she could win a Grammy and Tony to complete an EGOT, she replied there is no chance. She added, though, “I can’t sing at all and have never been onstage before.”
Ben Pasek and Justin Paul joined the EGOT group as the 20th and 21st members for winning an Emmy with their song from “Only Murders in the Building.”
They had previously won an Oscar for La La Land, a Grammy and Tony for Dear Evan Hansen. Emmys 2024
Curtis won for playing in an episode as White’s mother in The Bear’s season 2 holiday episode “Fishes.” Jon Bernthal, who portrayed White’s older brother in the episode, won Best Guest Actor in a Comedy.
Michaela Coel won Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Shogun caused a stir by moving to the drama series category and dominated the Emmy nominations with 25. It only lost in two music-composition categories, prompting winners to share how they achieved victory.
“I didn’t write any speech because I am not going to win against Shogun tonight,” Siddharta Khosla observed after winning best music composition for Only Murders in the Building series.
After winning his first Emmy, Eric Andŕe jokingly remarked about not being on “Shogun.”
On September 15, Dan and Eugene Levy will host the Primetime Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theater.
