Ather Energy has launched the 2025 edition of its popular 450 series electric scooters. These new models come with a mix of cutting-edge technology, performance, and thrill for the rider. The portfolio now consists of the 450S, 450X, and 450 Apex, with each variant to suit the requirements of different customers. The range starts at ₹1.30 lakh and goes all the way to ₹2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Redesigned Features and Improved Functionality
The 2025 450 series comes with several new features, including a state-of-the-art MagicTwist function. This innovation improves acceleration control, ensuring a smoother ride. In addition, Ather has introduced traction control in three modes: Rain, Road, and Rally. These modes adapt to different terrains, ensuring safety and flexibility.
Scooters also feature Atherstack 6, the company’s latest operating system. This now integrates Google Maps, Alexa voice control, and WhatsApp notifications for connected riders. Hyper Sand and Stealth Blue colours are also newly added to the portfolio.

Ather has enhanced the battery packs, now available in two sizes: 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh. The 450S, equipped with the 2.9 kWh battery, delivers a range of 105 km in Smart Eco mode, a significant improvement of 15 km. Meanwhile, the 450X achieves ranges of 105 km and 130 km for the 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh variants,
respectively. The flagship 450 Apex, with a 3.7 kWh battery, also provides a range of 130 km, marking a 20 km increase. Charging times have also improved. The 450S fully charges in 7 hours and 45 minutes using a 375 W charger. On the other hand, the 450X and 450 Apex take 4 hours and 30 minutes and 5 hours and 45 minutes, respectively, depending on the battery capacity with the 700 W charger.
The Ather 450 series retains its robust powertrain. Power is high at 5.4 kW of power and a maximum torque of 22 Nm for the 450S, 6.4 kW and 26 Nm for 450X, and 7 kW with 26 Nm torque on the 450 Apex. These values provide rapid acceleration, firm cruising, and an exhilarating overall ride.
It also boasts MRF Zapper N e-tred tyres, which are designed to deliver better grip and overall ride stability. These adapt to varying road conditions to deliver comfort and confidence for the rider.
Comprehensive Range and Mode Options
Each scooter has flexibility with various drive modes. For instance, the 450S comes equipped with SmartEco, Eco, Ride, and Sport. In such variants, the available range ranges between 75 kilometers and 105 kilometers. Analogous to it, 450X and 450 Apex with the drive mode have Warp or Warp+, suited best for an explorer rider.

Ather has priced the 450 series attractively so as to attract the maximum customer base. The base model of the 450S starts from ₹1.30 lakh and is an affordable product with the least compromises.
