Lexus has introduced the 2025 LX500d in India, a new benchmark for luxury SUVs. The new model is available in two different variants: Urban and Overtrail. The standard Urban variant begins from ₹3 crore, whereas the off-road-savvy Overtrail is priced at ₹3.12 crore. Although there is an addition of high-end technology, the powertrain is unchanged.
Urban Variant: Improved Comfort and Safety
Lexus has endowed the LX500d Urban with its new Safety System +3.0, delivering premium-grade driver assistance. On offer are features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. Heated, ventilated front seats also include a new massage feature. Connected car features have also been added for convenience. Other features in the SUV follow through on the older model year.

Overtrail Variant: Tougher Build for Off-Road Enthusiasts
The Overtrail trim is differentiated by a more aggressive and tough look. A darker-finished grille adds to its aggressive appearance, and black alloy wheels with thicker tires enhance its off-road presence. Black body cladding and darkened chrome trim further characterize its tough appeal. Lexus makes the Overtrail available in a special Moon Desert exterior color, with a Khaki interior theme.
Powerful Twin-Turbo V6 Diesel Engine
Lexus still supplies the LX500d with the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel motor. This beast makes 304 bhp and a whopping 700 Nm of torque. It sends power to all four wheels with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV comes with a center-locking differential as standard. But the Overtrail model pushes capability even further by including front and rear locking differentials, enhancing off-road prowess.
Booking Open, But Delivery Timeline Not Clear
Lexus has formally opened 2025 LX500d bookings at all Indian dealerships. Still, there was no announcement of a definite delivery timeline by the company. Equipped with the latest technology, luxury, and off-road capabilities, the new LX500d hopes to appeal to city drivers as well as adventure enthusiasts.
