Google is all set to release the Pixel 9a, and fresh high-resolution renders have leaked online, providing us with a glimpse of its new camera module design and color variations. According to the leaks, Pixel 9a will come with a new design but keep the iconic Pixel experience intact.
New Camera Module Design and Color Options
The leaked renders of the Pixel 9a indicate a dramatic design change from its predecessor, the Pixel 8a. Google seems to have ditched the classic camera visor for a pill-shaped camera module that is flush with the rear panel. The camera is still horizontal and slightly offset to the left.
Leaked renders also indicate four color options:
- Obsidian (Black)
- Peony (Pink)
- Porcelain (Gold/Beige)
- Iris (Blue)
Google is likely to formally introduce these color names on launch.
Expected Display and Build Quality
Leaks suggest that the Pixel 9a will have a 6.3-inch Actua display with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits. The display is likely to come with Gorilla Glass 3 protection for added durability.

At the front, the selfie camera will be accommodated in a centered hole-punch notch. The power and volume buttons are on the right side, consistent with Google’s typical design.
Performance and Hardware Upgrades
The Pixel 9a should come powered by the Tensor G4 chipset, the same processor that features in the Pixel 9 lineup. The upgrade is likely to bring improved performance and efficiency over older Pixel A-series devices.
Main leaked hardware details are:
- 8GB RAM for seamless multitasking
- 256GB storage for apps, media, and documents
- IP68 water and dust resistance for longevity
Camera and Battery Enhancements
The Pixel 9a is tipped to feature a dual-camera setup, including:
- 48MP primary sensor
- 13MP ultra-wide sensor
These upgrades suggest better photography capabilities, particularly in low-light conditions.
For battery life, the Pixel 9a may pack a 5,100mAh battery with support for:
- 23W wired charging
- 7.5W wireless charging
Anticipated Price and Availability
The Pixel 9a is tipped to begin at $499 (around ₹42,000). Pre-bookings can start on March 19, with sales kicking off on March 26.
With a new design, enhanced hardware, and a better camera system, the Pixel 9a is looking like a solid player in the mid-range smartphone segment.
