NISAR Mission 2025:This is the first joint venture between the two space giants of the world: NASA and ISRO. The whole basis of this mission is to quantify all the environmental changes and give critical information on natural disasters, levels of biomass, ground water fluctuations, and sea level movements. NISAR was designed as a NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar to orbit the Earth and take radar data every 12 days. By the end of the duration, a minimum of three years would have elapsed.

NASA and ISRO’s relationship Illustrates the Strategic Partnership in taking the two entities to work together in creating this NISAR mission. NASA provides L-band radar with the ability to pierce thick vegetation and ice, while ISRO gives the spacecraft, S-band radar, and the launch vehicle. Such collaboration came as a result of a 2007 report meant to bring to light the need for accurate data of Earth’s land and cryosphere. The project began officially after an agreement between NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and ISRO Chairman K. Radhakrishnan.
