TVS Motor Company has officially started delivering its premium electric scooter, the TVS X, in India. Launched in August 2023, the scooter saw its first delivery well over a year after its price announcement. TVS has currently limited deliveries to Bengaluru, Karnataka, with plans for a phased rollout in other states. However, the company has not provided a specific timeline for expansion.
Premium Pricing and Advanced Engineering
The TVS X is the most expensive electric scooter from the company, priced at ₹2.48 lakh (ex-showroom). It is built on the ‘born electric’ Xleton platform with an aluminium alloy frame for better structural integrity. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 100/80-section front and 110/80-section rear tires for stability and grip on various road conditions.
Additionally, telescopic forks at the front and an offset rear monoshock ensure a silky smooth ride.TVS has also donned the X with a single-channel ABS system and disc brakes—220mm at the front and 195mm at the rear—for better braking performance.

There is an impressive 10.25-inch high-definition TFT touchscreen which is tilt-adjustable for better visibility. This screen hosts ‘NavPro’ onboard navigation, wellness functions with therapeutic audio experiences, games, live video streaming, and web browsing. Most of these are only accessible to the recreational features when the scooter is stationary.
Plus, it includes features like anti-theft alarm, cruise control, along with numerous connectivity options. All of these seem to make the TVS X a smart electric scooter specifically targeting tech-loving riders.
TVS Starts Deliveries of Its Flagship Electric Scooter
The mid-drive permanent magnet motor with ram-air cooling propels the X. The motor produces a constant output of 7 kW and a peak of 11 kW, with the peak torque rated at 40 Nm. TVS provides three ride modes: Xtealth, Xtride, and Xonic, each customized to optimize performance based on the riding conditions.
Acceleration figures show how agile the scooter is, going 0-40 kmph in just 2.6 seconds and 0-60 kmph in 4.5 seconds. Its top speed goes up to 105 kmph, thus it is among the fastest electric scooters available in its category.
However the TVS X is powered by a 4.44 kWh battery pack and has a usable 3.8 kWh. The pack consisted of nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells and had a claimed range of up to 140 km after a single charge.
Deliveries have started in Bengaluru, but the company has not yet announced when the scooter will be available in other cities. However with its premium price tag, the TVS X is more suited for urban riders who want an electric scooter with the latest technology, great performance, and premium build quality.
As electric mobility gears up in India, the launch and distribution of expensive models like the TVS X would push the industry toward more advanced and feature-rich offerings. Deliveries to other regions will have to wait for the long arm of TVS to reach them, but the X has already started creating waves as a futuristic performance-oriented electric scooter.
